Most people agree that it’s hard to find a bad time to visit or live on the beach. Crowds tend to stay for the summer fun and allure of the ocean, but there’s always something to do in Gulf Shores. This fall will bring a host of interesting events that are great for residents and vacationers alike.
Fitness Events
It’s always smart to embrace active and balanced lifestyles, and this season offers up several opportunities to socialize and work out. Some events you can choose from include:
Ӣ Yoga at the Beach. This hour-long class takes place at the Gulf State Park Beach Pavilion several times this season. Instruction begins at 8:30a.m. Participants are asked to bring water and a mat.
Ӣ 2016 Honeybee Festival and 5k/Fun Run. On October 1st there will be two opportunities to work on your physical health: the 5k run and a 1-mile fun run. The activities begin at 8 a.m. at Honeybee Park.
Ӣ Tri the Gulf. This triathlon is brought to you by the Mobile Bar Foundation. It takes place on October 15th from 7 a.m. until noon and is designed for serious athletes.
Festivals
In addition to socializing and snacking on delicious fair foods, many of our events include hours of live music and entertainment. The season is packed with fun occasions like:
”¢ The John L. Borom Alabama Coastal BirdFest. From October 5th-8th, you can join bird enthusiasts from across the nation and Canada for this 13th annual get-together. It’s a great opportunity for hobbyists of any experience level to see the beauty of the state’s avian population.
Ӣ The 5th Annual Festival of Flavor. Also on October 8th, this celebration is all about taste. The Historic Downtown Foley area is lined with showcases of flavor and culinary expertise for those who love food.
”¢ The 32nd Annual Frank brown International Songwriters’ Festival. For 10 days in November, you can experience music from an array of artists. There are Grammy winners and rising stars alike, all performing in beautiful Pensacola.
”¢ 33rd Annual Renaissance Festival Gatalop. If you’re interested in life from this middle ages, this is the event for you. On October 29th, knights, lords, merchants, and ladies will all be in period garb for an immersive and unique experience.
