If you’ve been down to Gulf Shores and haven’t made your way towards the Gulf State Park, you certainly have a reason to return!
And if you’ve visited before, you’re in for something new come 2018: Gulf State Park will finally finish its massive renovations that began in 2016 to make it even more of a tourist attraction.

History
Between a purchase by the United States government and donations from local landowners, Gulf State Park began its journey in 1933. The park has remained a rallying point for members of the community through multiple decades, directions, and disasters along the way.
Location
Gulf State Park is located right in the middle of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores with 6,180 acres and 3.5 miles of shoreline on the Gulf of Mexico that stretches all the way down the Perdido Pass.

Gulf State Park is perfect for both those who want to do everything and do nothing! Inside the park you’ll find:

The Pier
Gulf State Park boasts the second largest pier on the Gulf of Mexico at 1,540 feet long, which translates to nearly 2,500 feet of the finest and most scenic fishing in the state. If you ever need a little taste of sunshine, feel free to check out the Pier’s webcam!
Accommodations
Coming in 2018, the Lodge will re-open to the public to once again serve as a gathering place. It will provide lodging with 350 guest rooms, a ballroom with capacity for 1500 people, public meeting rooms, a restaurant, and access to all the parks amenities.
Future Plans
In 2016, Gulf State Park made plans to add to its current splendor and make the park more accommodating for guests. Included in these plans are to enhance trials, add a Park Tram, improve the campground and parking, and more.
