New and exciting developments are in progress and soon to come to Gulf Shores, AL, and the surrounding region. A number of new chain stores are opening up locations in the area, and the first step is the much-anticipated Blue Collar Country entertainment center. The center is set to open in Foley, AL, by summer of 2015. Given that Foley is only approximately 15 miles from Gulf Shores, the new development will provide many job opportunities for Gulf Shores residents. It will also improve the already-growing tourism industry along Alabama’s southern shore, providing more jobs and better real estate development opportunities for investors, homeowners, and builders.
The Blue Collar Country entertainment complex is a planned sports and entertainment center connected to big names like Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, and Bill Engvall, with backing promised by Tony Orlando. The project is set to sprawl across 260 acres in Foley and will include at least 3 hotels, 71 shops and retail stores, 8 restaurants, and 140 spots in parking lots for RVs. The complex has the potential to spread across 520 acres, but at present, development is limited to half of that space.
This project will generate hundreds of construction jobs throughout its development and realization and a similar number of jobs in the retail, food service, and hotel industries. Blue Collar Country will draw employees from all across Foley and the surrounding cities, including the prominent city of Gulf Shores. In addition to the job opportunities set to arise in Foley, new fast food restaurants in Gulf Shores like Popeye’s Chicken and What-a-Burger are already open. Retail businesses Academy Sports and Hobby Lobby, which is currently open, offer items like outdoor equipment and craft supplies to the citizens of Gulf Shores and beyond.
As the city’s tourism industry grows with the development of Blue Collar Country and as new residents arrive looking for better employment opportunities, the real estate industry of Gulf Shores will also begin to grow.
Existing houses in the community are beautiful, graced with amazing scenery and impossible-to-beat proximity to the ocean. If you are looking to relocate your family to the Alabama shore to take advantage of these new shopping, entertainment, and employment opportunities, consider making your new home in Gulf Shores.
