In a recent report by John Mullen of Gulf Coast News Today, the word on Memorial Day Weekend business for companies in Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Fort Morgan was a resounding success. In fact, Mullen’s article reported that some local favorites had multiple record-breaking days over the holiday weekend!

Interviews from familiar faces reveal managers and business owners glowing with praise from how busy Gulf Shores was between May 27-30. In the article, Mullen quotes employees from the Brick and Spoon, LuLu’s, The Hangout, Ribs & Red, and more.
From the sound of it, the crowds were top notch. And when you combine great crowds and outstanding dining and entertainment destinations like what Gulf Shores offers, it’s a beautiful thing. The news of people getting together and having fun on vacation was very refreshing to read this morning.
It also brings me incredible pride as a citizen of Gulf Shores. I love when tourists head to town, spend money and sample all things local. According to Mullen’s report, condos and rentals were also near capacities. Meyer Rentals were at 91% occupancy, which was up three percent from 2015. Luna Beach was at 99% capacity for the big weekend as well.
With a healthy economy and tourism trending upward in our beautiful slice of the country, it’s an excellent time to be in Gulf Shores.
