It’s that time of year again! Spring Break 2017 is upon us, and we couldn’t be more excited. And as stewards of Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Fort Morgan (our favorite places on Earth!), the team at Century 21 Meyer – Kris Powell wanted to give our out of town guests a guide to must-see places around town.
Battleship Memorial Park – History buffs will love exploring the U.S.S. Alabama and U.S.S. Drum, the historic battleship and submarine that have made their home in Mobile. With over 25 aircraft in the indoor pavilion as well as a flight simulator, there’s something for the whole family off Highway 10.
Little Lagoon Guide Service – If you’re looking to explore the high seas, give Captain Scott from Little Lagoon Guide Service a call and book a tour. With inshore and offshore options, Captain Scott has a handle on where to find the best fishing spots for everything from Amberjacks to Red Snapper to Spanish Mackerel. A great bang for your buck!
Downtown Seafood – Downtown Gulf Shores has as many seafood eateries as they do beaches. Cruise down Gulf Shores Parkway to find fresh fish and shrimp. Two of our favorites are Hazel’s in Orange Beach and Lulu’s Gulf Shores.
National Naval Aviation Museum – Take a day to make the hour drive east down 182 to Pensacola to see one of Florida’s most popular museums. The National Naval Aviation Museum is home to more than 150 one-of-a-kind aircraft that represent the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Aviation. The museum is open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and has free admission.
Do Absolutely Nothing on the Beach! – If none of the other must-see attractions around town suit you, that’s perfectly fine. We have some of the best beaches in the world, so soak it in! And don’t forget to leave only footprints!
If you’re looking to buy, sell or lease, contact us at Century 21 Meyer – Kris Powell. We consider ourselves stewards of the area, so even if you’re just visiting and need a little information, we’re happy to answer any and all questions you have.
